The internationally recognized composer and CSU professor of music composition had the piece, “Flying Jewels,” commissioned for The United States Air Force Band project “Hope Arises.” The composition recently premiered at the New Jersey Music Educator’s Association conference.
The School of Music, Theatre, and Dance at Colorado State University is thrilled to announce that Pablo Hernandez will join the faculty this fall as Instructor of Oboe. Mr. Hernandez brings a wealth of playing and teaching experience to CSU. He has served as the principal oboist of the OSPA Symphony Orchestra in Porto Alegre, Brazil, and has performed in numerous orchestras and chamber ensembles in Brazil, Colorado, Texas, Mississippi, and Wyoming.
The School of Music, Theatre, and Dance is pleased to announce that Dr. Jess Rushing is joining Colorado State University’s outstanding music therapy faculty. Dr. Rushing comes to CSU following three years at the University of Louisville as an assistant professor of Music Therapy, and receiving her Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Sciences from the University of Kentucky and a Master of Music Therapy from Florida State University.
In March, the board of The Dance Archive announced that Professor Chung-Fu Chang was named a 2021 Legends of Dance. The board received nine nominations reflecting the thriving Colorado dance community.
